Since having a very deep and championship contending team for multiple years around the turn of the century, the Sacramento Kings have consistently been at the bottom of the NBA standings each year. The Kings haven’t made the playoffs since a first round exit in 2005-06, and have never finished better than 11th in the Western Conference since then. It’s been a perpetual stage of rebuilding for this franchise who are still searching for their first winning season since that 05-06 campaign.
Continuously losing like that means that Sacramento Kings lines are ones bettors have no problem going against each year. Will that change going forward?

Sacramento Kings Record
For the better part of this decade of losing the Kings have been a mitigated disaster. Whether it was ownership troubles that had the team considering relocation, or the myriad of coaching disasters that have come through Sacramento, Sacramento has been a case study in how not to have success in the NBA.
The Kings were also bankroll burners in 14-15 with a league-worst 32-48-2 ATS record in a 29-win season. Things got a little better from a point spread perspective in 15-16 with a 38-42-2 ATS mark, but the team had a legitimate chance at a playoff appearance before blowing up internally the final two months of the year. Head coach George Karl was a martyr for a disgruntled team as he seemingly couldn’t get along with anyone, and their stars like DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo had no quarrels about mentally “checking out” of games.
Looking ahead, this Kings organization still has a long way to go to be considered a quality team, but there are some quality pieces in place.
Cousins and Rondo are the centre of this team entering the coming years and supporting cast members like Rudy Gay, Ben McLemore, Darren Collison and Willie Cauley-Stein can do their part in providing support. However, the biggest positive for this franchise going forward is the hiring of coach Dave Joerger. Joerger had plenty of success in Memphis with a talent-limited team and the Kings organization is hoping he can do the same in Sacramento. Whether or not that translates into more wins for Kings bettors on Sacramento Kings lines remains to be seen.
