The Chicago Cubs are one of the oldest professional sports teams being founded in 1876 as part of the National League. They have been nicknamed the “Lovable Losers” due to their historic World Series championship drought, which spans over 107 years. They last won it all in 1908 but have appeared in seven World Series and have won ten total NL pennants post-World Series baseball. They play in the north side of Chicago and have an interleague rivalry with the Chicago White Sox.
Long-suffering fans may finally see the Cubs break the curse and gamblers likewise look to them now as a steady betting option.

Chicago Cubs Record
1903 marked the franchise’s first season as the Cubs. 1908 was the last World Series they won after three straight trips to the Fall Classic. They also set a major league record with a 76.3 winning percent in 1906. 1945 was the last World Series they made in a losing effort like their previous six trips. In 2003, they came very close to their first World Series in 58 years when they lost the NLCS in seven games
The NL Central has fielded up to three World Series-caliber teams in recent years. The Cubs have been an up-and-down team often finishing in the bottom two but have sandwiched three first place finishes in there. In 2015, the Cubs became the division’s second wild card team thanks to a 60.5 winning percent against their rivals. They dominated every team but the St. Louis Cardinals.
It’s hard to find any tangible weaknesses to the Cubs. If the “curse” counts, then that’s their Achilles heel as this team, on paper, is equipped to not only contend for a World Series but play in many more. They boosted their already deadly pitching rotation led by Cy Young winner, Jake Arrieta by acquiring John Lackey and added two star fielders in Ben Zobrist and Jason Heyward.
Cubs fans don’t like to talk about their team’s chances much but the Cubs probably have their best chance to end their World Series curse now. The team is stacked from top to bottom and taking Heyward and Lackey away from their utmost rivals, the Cardinals adds to their chances. It’s World Series or bust for this team and Cubs fans may not be vocal about it but they are really hoping this is it.
