Washington has tried a little bit of everything during the past 10+ years to build a consistent winner. They’ve got through the youth movement phase trying to build a young core to grow together with limited success. They’ve tried bringing in seasoned vets to compliment some of those talented young players and had some success, but could never get over the hump of advancing past the second round. It’s an organization that truly lacks a strong identity and it’s another reason why they are one of the tougher teams in the NBA to handicap.

The strength of this team is in the backcourt with John Wall and Bradley Beal, but those two have dealt with various injuries throughout their young careers making it tough to see them on the floor together for prolonged stretches. Injuries affect every team in this league, but when one of those two guys goes on the shelf, the Wizards quality of play severely drops.

Bettors have a tough time getting a handle on this team too as the Wizards are 87-89-1 against the spread in the two seasons (including playoffs) since the start of the 2014-15 season. That’s not exactly bankroll building numbers, but because this team can be so streaky you can have tremendous success betting on Washington Wizards games if you put in the work.
